Top Golfer Tour 2017
The TopGolfer Tour has been designed with input from many of our 9,000+ strong membership. The aim has been to design a tour around you, to continue to improve our event experiences and to create a genuine tour feel for our players throughout the season.
We have improved the quality of our schedule with the addition of some superb new venues including Powerscourt Golf Club, Coollattin Golf Club, Rathcore Golf Club, and one of Ireland's most prestigious Senior Scratch Cups' at Carlow Golf Club.
The Tour will once again start at the home of the Irish Open 2014 – Fota Island – which is sure to be a Senior Scratch Cup with places in demand. We will also return to so many of the popular venues from last season including Beaverstown GC and Bunclody Golf & Fishing Club, Cork GC, Castle GC, Grange GC, Dromoland Castle, Delgany GC, and the links at Rosslare GC. All Tour Events are either Junior (handicap bracket 4/5-9) or Senior (handicap bracket 4/ 5 and lower) Scratch Cups.
The 2017 season will use a similar format for the Order of Merit but a significant change to the Tour Championship format. To qualify for an invitation to the PlayOffs, players must participate in the Order of Merit and must finish in the top 50 places in the table after all tour events are complete. These top 50 players will receive complimentary invites to compete in the penultimate season event - The TopGolfer PlayOffs which will take place at a premier golf resort in October.
The Top 10 finishers from the PlayOffs event and the top 13 competitors in the Order of Merit Table (after PlayOffs points have been allocated and the automatic 10 qualifiers have been removed) will also progress to The TopGolfer Tour Championship.
The Tour Championship is a 1-day 27-hole Shootout event which will take place on the 7th October at Druids Glen Resort in Co. Wicklow. This invitational includes golf on the Championship Druids Glen course, a place at the champions dinner and much more.
We would like to thank our incredible sponsor and supplier partners for making the Tour what it is. We would urge all of our competitors and members to acknowledge and support our partners wherever possible just as they support us.
