The eagerly awaited season for 2012 got underway at the Castle Golf Club. As usual, a pristine course awaited those who made the trip to this popular Dublin venue.

Golfers on the day had to endure quick greens (which were freshly cut and rolled that morning) and a stiff breeze. The torrential evening forcast should have been enough to shy most away, but huge praise must be given to our hardcore TopGolfer followers who all showed up to compete. Luckily, they all got their just reward as the rain kept away. One evening golfer in particular made use of the good conditions. After moving to -3 early in his round, local member John Burke kept his cool and recorded a superb gross score of 72 (+2) to take the title on countback. This secures the John the 1st Place at the TopGolfer Tour Championship Finals in Fota Island this October.

The winning score of 72 (+2) Gross was matched by Jordan O’Sullivan – a really fine effort by Jordan in testing conditions. After both shooting gross scores of 73 (+3), prizes for 3rd and 4th places went to Mark Doran and Gerry Moran respectively.
