Event 1 in the Winter Series took place on The Ryder Cup Course at The K Club with 42 pairs competing.

After some initial confusion (which started off with the TopGolfer 'Team' making a bags of their alarm clock and the hour going back, and moved onto some confusion about the format!!!!), this was a great start to the series on what was largely a blue-sky day in Kildare.

The team format was better ball strokeplay. To decipher final positions, a count back has been used.

The team that took maximum points from the first event were Padraic Connolly (1) and David Cameron (8) with a fantastic betterball score of 64. The perfect start to the winter series.

We then had 3 teams finishing with a team score of 66. Brendan McDonnel (3) and Pat Russell (7) secired 2nd place on their back 9 score. Team Handsome which was made up of Shane Walsh (1) and Paul Byrne (2) took third spot with a better last hole and The Shankers which was Brendan Martin (6) and Noel Devlin (6) completed the trio taking 4th spot.

Next with a score of 67 were The Champions (Paul Bray (5) and Conor Slevin (5)), SuperMacs (Darren McCormac (2) & Craig McCormack (5)), The Cats (Niall O'Sullivan (5) & Brian Doherty (5)), and finally The Doyle Bros. (Anthony Doyle (7) & Carl Doyle (4)).
