Chaney is Champion at Roganstown

Fran Chaney (5) took the title of TopGolfer at the Roganstown Junior Scratch Cup today with a fine round of 77. Playing on home turf, the Roganstown Club member came out on top the field of 66 competitors who enjoyed the good weather and slick greens on the Christy O'Connor Jnr golf course. The field was tightly packed behind Fran with the next three places being decided on the last 6 holes.

In second place was Michael McHugh (6) from Concra Wood, third was Eoin Barton (5) of Ballinasloe GC and in fourth place was Paul Nugent (6) from Hermitage GC all of whom shot rounds of 78.

Congratulations to Fran who takes home a Callaway Diablo Driver of his specification as well as that all important invitation to the TopGolfer Tour Championship in October. Other prizes on the day included a pair of magnificent Ecco golf shoes, a Motocaddy golf bag and a Kartel wet suit. Again, thanks to everyone who competed at what was the club's first Junior Scratch....it is sure to go from strength to strength. Full results to follow shortly..... Return to news listing
