Declan Moran wins TopGolfer Arklow Senior Scratch

Declan Moran (1) of The Island Golf Club took the honours at Arklow on Saturday 8th May on a seriously tough day for golf. The wind blew and blew and the scores grew and grew in the TopGolfer Senior Scratch as the field struggled on the links. Declan though mastered it brilliantly and finished with a superb 75 to win his place at the Tour Championship.

In what was an incredibly tight finish, Declan beat Michael Furlong (4) into second place who also shot an excellent 75, third wasTrevor O'Sullian (3) with 76 and fourth was Michael McGlynn (3) also with 76.

Damian Byrne by the way had an ace on the 11th!!

Despite the wind, the sun shone yet again for a TopGolfer event and the field of over 80 had a great days competition on the hugely enjoyable links at Arklow. Thanks to the club for hosting us and for all their help in making it such a success. The top 40 results are published below.. Return to news listing
