Westport's blustery conditions meant a challenging day for the field, but as always, a few competitors shone. As has a tendency to happen when the wind picks up, a home club member took the title. Tony Bree shot a very impressive 75 (Par 73) to win by one stroke and secure his place at the TopGolfer Tour Championship. Unlucky to miss out just one shot behind was Ronan Hehir (5) of Shannon Golf Club with an excellent 76 (playing off 8), and in third was John Kavanagh (5) of Galway Golf Club with a really good 78. Thanks to everyone to competed on a wild bank holiday Sunday in Westport and to the host club who lived up to their reputation for a warm welcome and a golf course presented in great condition.
